The Internet.org initiative will provide access to popular websites and services with zero data charge to make it easier for people to access the Internet across both the 2G and 3G platforms.
Facebook and Reliance Communications have launched Internet.net Android app in India. Internet.org aims to provide basic Internet access to people who aren’t yet connected for free. Last year in October, Facebook CEO had introduced the global project called Internet.org in the country.
“Users can can access these services in the Internet.org Android app, at http://www.internet.org, from the start screen of the Opera Mini mobile web browser, and using the Android app UC Browser for Internet.org. Most of the services will be available in English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Gujarati and Marathi.”
रिलायंस कम्युनिकेशंस (आरकॉम) और फेसबुक के साझा करार से अब भारतीय उपभोक्ता 33 प्रमुख वेबसाइट पर बिना किसी शुल्क के जा सकेंगे। आरकॉम ने देश के एक अरब लोगों तक इंटरनेट की पहुंच बनाने के लिए यह करार किया है। मुफ्त वेबसाइट में सामाजिक, शैक्षिक, खेल, स्वास्थ्य व अन्य क्षेत्रों से जुड़ी साइट्स शामिल हैं।
आरकॉम और फेसबुक के बीच करार के तहत दोनों कंपनियों ने मिलकर इंटरनेटडॉटओआरजी लांच किया। इसके माध्यम से उपभोक्ता इन मशहूर इंटरनेट साइट पर बिना किसी शुल्क के जा सकेंगे। इस माध्यम से 2जी और 3जी दोनों ही माध्यम के ग्राहकों के लिए इंटरनेट पर जाना आसान हो जाएगा। आरकॉम की ओर से दी गई जानकारी के मुताबिक शुरुआत में ये सेवाएं रिलायंस उभोक्ताओं को मुंबई, महाराष्ट्र, गुजरात, आंध्र प्रदेश, चेन्नई, तमिलनाडु व केरल के टेलीकॉम सर्कल में उपलब्ध होंगी। इन सेवाओं को देश के बाकी हिस्सों में चरणबद्ध तरीके से और अधिक वेबसाइट के साथ पहुंचाने का लक्ष्य है। कंपनी के मुताबिक इंटरनेट डॉट ओआरजी की शुरुआत का उद्देश्य एक अरब लोगों तक इंटरनेट पहुंचाना है। इस शुरुआत से उपभोक्ता डेटा चार्ज की चिंता किए बगैर इंटरनेट इस्तेमाल कर सकेंगे।
